Jim was born and raised in British Columbia and has been a resident homeowner in Abbotsford for over 5 years. While a member of the Canadian Army, Jim lived in Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and New Brunswick. He also enjoyed a 2 ½ year posting at a major NATO Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany. His tenure in the Canadian Forces included service with the Royal Canadian Artillery, and positions as an instructor and training administrator. Jim was involved in the Military Intelligence and International Arms Control for several years. Jim was also an integral member of Arms Control Inspection teams in the Czech Republic and Russia.

After 33 years, Jim retired from the Canadian Forces in 1995 and joined Sun Life Financial as an Insurance Agent. He gained his qualification in Investments though The Investment Funds Institute of Canada in 1997 and is currently pursuing his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.

Jim has been associated The R.I.T.E. Team since 1998 and takes a keen interest in assisting families with their Income Protection, Estate and Retirement Planning. He also is closely involved in business situations in providing Health Benefits Plans, Group Retirement and Business Continuation Planning.
